Othrobiologic or regenerative medicine uses your body's own cells and proteins to help the body restore function

What is Regenerative Medicine?

Regenerative medicine is a scientific and medical field dedicated to harnessing the power of the body's own cells and natural regenerative abilities to restore the function of damaged cells, tissues, and organs.

Platelet rich plasma (PRP)

Platelets, found in the bloodstream, are fragments of cells that serve as carriers for chemical signals that trigger the body's healing mechanisms. In the event of an injury, platelets migrate to the affected region and release these chemical signals, triggering the healing response.

In cases of chronic injuries affecting tendons, ligaments, and joints, this healing process can stall leading to disordered healing and pain. The concentration and re-injection of your own platelets, known as PRP, can replicate this healing response and prove highly effective in treating specific conditions.

If PRP is indicated a sample of the patient's blood is taken and processed in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. The PRP is then injected directly into the damaged area using ultrasound guidance to ensure the treatment is most effective. The procedure takes less than an hour and is done in the office.

Appropriate rehabilitation are essential to a good outcome after PRP. Dr. Goodman and his team provide a rehabilitation protocol, supplement recommendations, and work closely with your physical therapist to guide your post procedure rehabilitation to ensure the best possible outcome
